Professional Piano Moving Services in Northcote
Northcote contains a varied mixture of period homes, narrow residential streets, apartments, townhouses, schools, music studios and commercial premises. Access can range from straightforward ground-floor moves to tight hallways, stairs, restricted parking and difficult turns.
Before your move, we assess the piano type, access conditions, steps, parking and any unusual requirements. Photos or a short video may be requested where staircases, landings, sharp turns or restricted access need to be examined in advance.
Our Northcote piano-moving services include:
• Upright piano moving
• Grand and baby grand piano moving
• Pianola and player piano moving
• Harpsichord moving
• Room-to-room piano relocations
• Apartment and townhouse piano moves
• Difficult-access and staircase moves
• Short-term and long-term piano storage
• Piano moving for schools, studios, venues and events
• Moves between Northcote and suburbs throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria
From Grand Pianos and Upright Pianos to Pianolas and Harpsichords, we handle them all. Whether it’s navigating tight staircases, crane-assisted moves, or challenging access points, we excel in tasks other movers shy away from.
Fully insured and highly experienced, JM & Sons ensures your piano is moved with the utmost care and precision.

Trusted by Leading Piano Businesses
Our experience is trusted by leading names in the piano industry, including Steinway & Sons Australia, Yamaha Australia and Kawai Australia.
Careful Planning
We consider parking, pathways, steps, doorways, floors, hallways, landings and turning space before the move. This helps us allocate the correct equipment, vehicle and crew.
Apartment and Staircase Piano Moves in Northcote
Northcote has many apartments, townhouses and older properties where staircase width, landings, turns and overhead clearance can determine whether a piano can be moved safely.
Straightforward entrance steps are different from a narrow internal staircase or a staircase with turns and landings. For unusual or difficult access, photographs or a short video allow us to assess the safest moving method before arrival.
Our Northcote piano movers regularly assist with residential, apartment, staircase and difficult-access piano moves throughout Northcote and nearby suburbs.

Wet-Weather Piano Moving in Northcote
Melbourne’s weather can change quickly. Light or intermittent rain does not necessarily mean a piano move must be cancelled, but the access and conditions must remain safe.
Our team uses suitable protective coverings and carefully manages the time your piano is exposed outdoors. We also assess wet paving, slippery steps, soft ground, grass and any other conditions that could affect the safety of the move.

Protecting Your Home During a Piano Move
Pianos place considerable weight through their castors and moving equipment. We take care when moving across timber floors, tiles, carpet and other finished surfaces.
Please let us know if the property has recently polished floors, delicate tiles, restricted access or any other areas requiring particular attention.
Parking and Access in Northcote
Parking and vehicle access are important when organising a Northcote piano move. Narrow streets, permit zones, bicycle lanes, apartment loading restrictions and limited space near the property can all affect how the move is completed.
Please advise us about parking restrictions, loading areas, apartment requirements and any distance between the property entrance and the nearest suitable truck position.
Secure Piano Storage
We provide secure short-term and long-term piano storage when your new property is not ready, you are renovating, or delivery needs to be arranged for a later date.
Storage can be included as part of a complete collection, storage and redelivery service.
